Welcome to CALrealignment.org. On October 1, California's corrections realignment plan, one of the most significant changes to California's criminal justice system in decades, will go into effect. The plan shifts responsibility from the state to counties for the custody, treatment, and supervision of individuals convicted of specified nonviolent, non-serious, non-sex crimes.

On September 21st, 2011, the conference, "Innovations in Public Safety & Justice in California: Advancing Effective Justice Realignment," showcased innovative, evidence-based approaches to managing this population, reducing recidivism and protecting public safety.
